About Washington Healthplanfinder: The Affordable Care Act created an insurance marketplace for individuals and families to shop around for health and dental insurance coverage. While some states opted to allow the Department of Health and Human Services to manage their exchange marketplace, Washington state decided to implement its own state-based exchange, which we now call Washington Healthplanfinder. Since its inception, Washington Healthplanfinder has helped millions of Washingtonians enroll in coverage. Last enrollment season, Washington Healthplanfinder achieved record enrollment numbers, helping over 1.3 million Washingtonians shop for and buy health insurance.
