Added Oct 2, 2013: I am making an immediate contribution from my salary to support a local organization which is assisting the families of furloughed employees negatively affected by the government shutdown. I am working tirelessly to end the shut down as soon as possible so these deserving men and women can go back to work.
I am strongly opposed to shutting the government down. The job of Congress is to run the government, not to shut it down. However, here’s what you should know in the event Congress fails to pass a funding bill and our government shuts down:
