Heck talks hackers, Russians and writing
WHAT THE HECK — Rep. Denny Heck couldn’t have predicted what he was getting into when he joined the powerful House Intelligence Committee at the start of this Congress. “I was originally motivated [to serve] in large part because it was this enclave of bipartisanship,” he told POLITICO during a recent interview in his Capitol Hill office. “Then, pretty much the first week I got there, the Russia investigation hit.
The Washington state Democrat talked about what working on the committee has been like since panel Republicans ended the investigation of Russian meddling in the 2016 election, concluding that there was "no evidence” of collusion between Moscow and the Trump campaign. “The truth of the matter is … that outside of Russia, it is largely still nonpartisan,” he said.
